Full length metal mudguards

Can anyone recommend a set of full length metal mudguards for my Tour de Fer 30. I've somehow managed to break the rear and it is irritating knowing it's repaired but that if I broke it once I probably could again.

Another nod to Kinesis Fend-Offs. Very robust and stiff, easy to fit and good coverage of the tyres. You get get extra long mudflaps from RAW which I highly recommend (I have mine to about 1cm off the ground.
They are now on their second frame - and I've done a lot of miles on bikes with them fitted.

I will make mudflaps from old inner tube probably.

If you feel like pushing the boat out Portland Design Works guards are considered amongst the best, but predictably aren't cheap.

I've just bought some for the new cursed commuter and a quick cursory inspection suggests that they're excellent quality and look really nice.

Mine came from Condor (who I'd highly recommend); and who have them in in 45mm (to suit 35mm tyre max) and 55mm (for 47mm tyres max)..

Yeah, RAW are an extravagance, but I like them - they have a retroreflective coating which is startlingly visible at night.

Don't know if you've bought any yet but my Shand came with SKS Edge AL fitted and I like them.

Main drawback (for some) of the Kinesis ones over the Portland ones is that the maximum width only goes to 50mm. I have 50mm tyres on a couple of my bikes and the 56mm SKS Edge AL is not optimal. The Portland ones (I haven't looked at them all) have a 65mm guard but I find the price ridiculous. I wish that SKS did the Edge AL in a 65mm width.

The hardware looks a little nicer / more robust and I prefer the more subtle branding on the PDW guards; but as @freiston alludes to this was all a moot point for me as the Kenesis items aren't offered in a size suitable for my application.

Not that it has any real-world significance but when you convert the price of the PDW guards directly from dollars they work out at about a ton a pair / 50% more than the Kenesis jobs, which seems a bit more reasonable.

I have the Kinesis which are excellent but I had to add a couple of SKS secu release clips to reassure myself
