HTC One. Easily the best looking phone on the market. It's quite large, but that suits me as the iPhone looks like a toy in my shovel sized hands.

Slight downside is that you can't expand the memory, but 32gb is a decent whack of space.

Can also recommend the Samsung Galaxy range. My S2 was excellent, and I've only heard good things about the S3 & S4.

I just need a phone, what gets the web, e-mails and use a phone. I don't really do texting if I can help it.

Samsung 3 here, which I love. Basically (as with most androids) a portable tiny pc that is also my camera. My 'real' camera has been relegated as it's nowhere near as good. Oh and it does the text 'n' call thing too if you need it too
[However - lots of reports of micro SD cards being corrupted. Not good as the bigger ones cost a fortune. It's just happened to me and I've had one replaced and the new one now has no data on it but the phone keeps telling me it is re-mounting and preparing it and the like. I won't use the card for extra storage at the moment as I think it'll lose and trash it, but at least it's not chewed it up yet - although I suppose it might as well have done:laugh:]

Aaaaaah, I had a memory card go on my s3. Didn't realise it was a common problem! I've also just had the software replaced at the factory, as the original just stopped booting. Still a brill phone though

Or, try what I've been using for the last 12 years. An Ericsson R250s Pro.

Anyone got the Nokia Lumia 920?

Yes I have, and I hate it. It's far more complicated than it needs to be, nothing is simple to do on it, let me clarify that, nothing about it is rocket science, but nothing about it is as intuitive as any of the iPhones or Samsungs I've had over the years.

The S3/S4 are great phones but also very plasticky, whereas the iPhone is far better built but the evolutionary design has become boring IMO.

FWIW I also like the look of the HTC one. I very nearly got one as I just fancied a change from iOS and Android, but I stupidly opted for the Lumia 920

Another S3 fan here. Mr R is a slave to the diePhone but I've broken free. The S3 is the mutts nuts and I'm seriously tempted by the S4.

And another two here...
Both had iphone 4s, good phone, but we both swapped over to the Galaxy S3, does everything you want it to but with less fuss...and you dont need bloody itunes and all its jiggerypokery.
6 months for the wife, about 3 months fopr me on the S3. no problems with memory cards.
