Final lawn cut of the year done, before my return to Devon. Happy with that.

The next cut will be Easter 2026.

We had two potatoes that appeared from nowhere in one of our raised beds so I pulled one of them up today as the plants were starting to die back .

Couldn't dig / delve too much as it was close to the runner bean plants so more than happy with what I found

My Honda mower after many years of service , both at home and commercially braking down for good. Together with only now having money to replace it. Meant today lawns had first cut of the year , my new mover made light work of it with hardly any loss of battery. Once the edgers had been done it was looking like it had never been left this long.

Green manure of Mustard and Phycelia have come up nicely in two beds and sowed some Radish,Red Frills Mustard and Rocket.
Also did some weeding.
Will get the winter Onions started in modules next week-end and also start some saved Broad Bean seed to see if it's viable.

A good session of weeding and cutting bak was done this afternoon.
Also harvested another dozen potatoes with the roots still to pull up and hopefully a few more

I took the tops off the lawns on Friday, just before the weekend deluge, and I think considering how slow growing they have been this year it may be their last cut.

Runner bean and tomato plants pulled up.

Seeing as I was in the garden and the rear lawn was dry gave that a mow

I am a big fan of Geoff Hamiltons artisan garden. Although I have the posh allotment, I still have to get my hands dirty and get on my knees sometimes. Today I was driving around local authority recycling sites to find block pavers for edging. Here in Denmark, we are allowed to take things for free. Thats what Danes think recycling means.

All these blocks would have been ground up for hardcore. But instead will be used as edging to keep the soil off the path. Once I dig them all in.

Are you allowed to remove things from your recycling centre?

I've been researching lean-to greenhouses. Will be assembling the materials over winter ready to build in the spring.
Have you researched if such a greenhouse can affect the wall you are leaning it to?
Could the damp generated damage your wall?
