I know onion has antiseptic properties, but never heard of garlic as anaesthetic?

If you filled a sack with garlic you could beat someone unconscious with it.

love the stuff - we get through between 1 & 2 bulbs a week of the larger bulb variety. Just purchased a stunning garlic crusher (would not normally ever consider paying +£20 for a garlic crusher, but in need of a new one and I finally decided it may be worth trying... fantastic item that even crushes ginger as well.
Link please. We've just broken a good 'un and the other we have is not great.

Roasted garlic bulb with olive oil & balsamic ... Yum.
Roast Garlic in it's skin; when cooked squeeze it out on to bread and spread like butter, very nice.
Also when cooking Pork slice garlic thinly, create slits in the meat with a short knife and insert the garlic before cooking, infuses the meat whilst cooking.
Or for a real garlicphile a french dish called chicken stuffed with garlic, yes you've guessed, take your chicken and put as may cloves of garlic into the body cavity as you can, normally somewhere between 25 - 30 then roast the chicken.

Absolutely love garlic, however it depends on what the recipe is as sometimes it's better to use less to not overwhelm the other flavours.
