Garmin 1030 Strava segments issue, please help

Hi All.

Strava issue!

So finally upgraded from my 800 which I loved. I also use a bioactive watch but wanted mapping and turn by turn instructions so when on sale got the wife to buy it as an Xmas present 😁
It works well but only really using the same features as the 800.
I'm on Strava, my rides upload but I cannot get live segment's?
Love tracking works but when I try to load segments it asks me to login on phone, when I do it says error? Anyone had this? Using an android phone.

Also, any tips for a leisure cyclist on the mapping, not really used it

I think live segments only work if you subscribe

Have you set the segments you want to show up as Starred Segments? This is the vital step.

and as @Colin S said you need to "star" the live segments in your segments

Argh, didn't realise it was only stared segments but this makes sense
I do have 4 stared segments but not sure I've been on those routes with my 1030 yet
