Garmin 200 - Max rides

Had my Garmin 200 for about 2 years and very pleased with it. But a couple of weeks ago, it stopped showing my latest rides and only showed rides from February. As it was approaching year end, I did the factory reset and reset my odometers back to zero, but still had same problem.

Then attached to the computer and used windows explorer to see what was on there. In the activity folder, there was 2 years of "fit" files, must have been close to 400 and I guessed that this was probably the cause of the problem. So deleted them all and the problem disappeared and the 200 now working fine again.

So I thought I would share this with you all, in case anyone gets similar loss of current rides. There was no warning message, just stopped displaying the current rides.

Mine normally warns me it's getting full. I usually clear it every 6 months (whilst commuting).

My elevation stopped record correctly first then a while later I think it warned me too. I've got in the habit of deleting rides every so often and use my other Garmin more often so I couldn't rightly say.
