i did down load it to strava and that came up with 2500ft of climbing

ok - after a bit of research over the internet i have foind out that the garmin algorithm for total ascent uses contour smoothing and only calcualtes a climb thats over 10mtrs or 30ft.

so it doesnt calculate all climbing.

i have now downloaded a peice of software called topofusion - opened the gpx file and it now gives me total climbing for the whole ride and not just elevation gain based on an algorithm

sorted - total feet climbed was 3567ft
