Garmin 3 hour + update!

What can they be doing - for 3 hours?
In this day and age I would have thought they could re-programme the world's banking system in that time; but a Garmin?? OK it is an explore something or other with maps of western Europe, but even so....

That's their upload speeds that suck, not the actual installation time.
I hear what you're saying though. Quite a few companies do the same. I suppose they need to ration their servers upload speeds if they've alot of customers.

I've got a basic Edge 200, it updates in minutes

Good Lord Trump above. What are you using? A Vic20? None of my Garmin devices have ever taken more than 30 seconds to update, even the Touring.

It's not so much the download itself, it's waiting for the connection and hand shake from the Kremlin that takes the time.

Map updates always take an age for me as well :-(
