Garmin Edge 1000 - auto re-routing?

Really happy with the above toy, sorry device.

Have used it quite a lot to plan routes in unknown areas.

One issue i do have with it, is it's built in feature that it tries to re-direct you on other routes, most seemingly when i'm not too far from the end destination on the way back.

Any ideas how to turn this off, so that it blindly follows the route i've uploaded?

I have the Touring Edge and I've turned off route recalculation, turn that off on yours via the settings menu and that should cure it.
