Garmin Edge 1000 - Showing Texts problem

I have recently bought a Garmin 1000. Really good piece of kit (should be for close to £300!!!!)
The live tracking seems to be working - as I had a trial run this morning & my Mrs could see me on my route. I am however having problems with the Live texts - I get a notification that I have received a text, I then click on the notification and it takes me to another screen showing new text & the time received, I then click on this notification and it just takes me to a blank screen saying text received. Should It be showing me who the text is from & what it reads? I have signal on my mobile & also Bluetooth is activated.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Am I doing something wrong or is this just a system bug?

If I have it right (and I don't own one, so I don't know for sure) it will only alert that you have a text, it will not display it. If you want to read the text, you'll have to stop and get your phone out. This seems very sensible to me.

yes- have the 2.8 update. Ive read on the garmin forum that other people are having similar problems, but mainly with their phones not connecting to the device.
