Garmin Edge 810 Question

Hi,

I'm going to be using my 810 to do a long ride this weekend. This will be the first time I will be riding a route i'm not completely sure of. I have uploaded the route as a course on the 810. My question is if i navigate using the course i have uploaded and i change the screen from the map to my normal data screen (speed, time, cadence etc.) will the turn by turn directions still pop up on the screen when i need to make a turn or do i need to keep it on the map screen to receive the turn by turn instructions?

On 800 you can have it on any screen you like. As you approach a turning it will auto switch to show you where you need to go. You can then 'tap to go back' to previous screen.

Exactly what i was hoping it would do thanks for the info.

It should do, mine gets a bit glitchy sometimes and forgets to tell you to turn until you actually make the turn (or go off course). I'm hoping that recent software updates might have fixed it.
