I'm off to Majorca in October with my works cycling club.

Have to put my preference in for set up, rear cassette etc on the bikes we're hiring.

I've looked at some of the rides and there's going to be a lot of climbing.

Any advice on what I should request?

Any advice from any mountain goats most appreciated

Thanks in advance

I'd be ok on a 12/25 compact but I know my capabilities. You haven't indicated what you are currently capable of!

If you are worried (which you seem to be, or you wouldn't have asked ...) - it is better to have low gears that you don't need, than need low gears that you don't have!

I'd be looking for a compact 50/34 with 12-30 on the back. Would also be tempted by 11-32 if possible.
