General maintenance before work!

Hey guys, how many people out there struggle with prepping their bikes before work? I had a bit of a nightmare this morning trying to find a petrol station who's air machine was working!

Everything done the night before. Still doesn't guarantee success but best chance.

ALWAYS have the bike ready the night before. And you really need your own pump, a track pump is ideal. I and many others have found the Topeak Joe Blow to be a good pump for regular home use.

I always have the bike ready the night before, in fact I have more than one pretty much ready just in case. Worse case a bit of air in the reserve’s tyres and clip on some lights and away I go.

I didn't think petrol stations had airlines on the forecourt anymore!
I agree with I LikeSkol re. track pump, it's the most useful cycle accessory I own.

I agree with I LikeSkol re. track pump, it's the most useful cycle accessory I own.

They do, and they'll charge you 50p to use it, unless you go to one of the garage's near me, they charge a quid.

Another here who does the prep the night before when on day shifts. Mainly because at 03:30 it’s a struggle to think properly, so I make sure everything is set the night before (and have at least 1 spare bike ready as backup). When I’m on nights I sort the bike when I wake up, but that’s because I’m normally awake a couple of hours before I have to leave.
You really need to get yourself a track pump rather than rely on fuel stations, the more you can do yourself the better.
