That's a cracking conversion - looking at the G bikes, I'd have expected them to try rather harder than they seem to have, seemingly.

In what way?

There's nothing currently new under the sun, so all they can do is what they've done - taken an OEM drive system and fitted it to a Genesis bike.

In this case, they're using Shimano Steps crank drive, which is not as smooth as Bosch, but I believe is generally cheaper for a manufacturer to buy.

The rest of it comes down to choosing the spec of the bike bits, same as making a pushbike.

At least Genesis has avoided fitting a pointless cheapo suspension fork.
