Hi and a warm :welcome: to you.
As already said, the best way to increase endurance and stamina is just to ride, ride ,ride.
Just don't try to push it too much at first. Take it easy, don't go too far and slowly build up.
It'll all come together in the end.
Enjoy your bike and your riding.

Welcome Ollie,
At the moment just ride and enjoy !
I am just reading through the time crunched cyclist which is good for me as i most of my rides are commutes with the occasional long ride and to sum it up once i have some base fitness is " ride it like you stole it " .

@Rickshaw Phil already found it, that thread is a large part of why i ended up buying my Triban 3

Thanks for the welcome all, guess I'd better find myself a decent pair of cycling shorts, everything else can wait!

If the bike is a joy to ride, then you will want to go out on it. Ifit isn't set up right for you specifically...you won't !

Thanks everyone. Running up to an essay deadline so haven't got any time to be out and about on lengthy cycles but I cycle most days down to the south of town a couple miles and back up to study with a friend and I'd forgotten how enjoyable cycling is! Incredibly unfit right now so even thats a bit tiring but baby steps and all that. I'll get there.

Only thing i've noticed is either i'm not used to riding or the saddle on my Triban 3 is incredibly hard. There's no other way to phrase this...but it feels like between my thighs is bruised although it isn't. Will i get used to this over time, or will the cycling shorts I have on order alleviate this?

On the way down today my front light hit the floor and came apart into various bits. I've put it back together with some tape and it works but this obviously isn't a long time solution when I'm invariably cycling back in the dark. On the lookout for a front light that isn't held on by friction.
