I've started taking cycling a bit more seriously. It started off as something fun to do and it still is but I'm really enjoying it now.

I've ordered quite a few cycling accessories so far:

Bike computer
Cycling jersey/shorts
Cycling gloves
Charge Spoon Saddle (Recommended by 'rusky')
Schwalbe City Jets (Recommended by 'pat "5mph"')

Finally got a job so i'll be making a bit of money each week. Planning to upgrade my bike and get it powder coated. Next time I have a few hundred £ I'll be purchasing a road bike

Quality. The fun has only just begun.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
And so the collection of "essential" bike kit begins  The amount of stuff you end up with can be scary when you start to add it all up .

Currently bidding on a C02 pump although i have 3 perfectly good standard pumps .

What's the point of the C02 pumps, what do they do?

This is the one I have, http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...uctId_700386_langId_-1_categoryId_165661#tab1, got it in a 3for2 offer along with a bike computer and a bike light.

Have you used that pump yet? I got it for my road bike, but I struggled to get anywhere over 50psi with it. Something like this is worth investing in, particularly when you get the new bike: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_178303_langId_-1_categoryId_165661 , although not very mobile.

C02 pumps are supposedly great at when you get a flat on the road, saves pumping up the tyre as all you do is attatch and fill the tyre up in seconds to recommended pressure.Mini pumps as redcard said struggle to get tyres up to the pressures needed .
I use a track pump at home and carry a variety of pumps dependant on what bike i am on ,i personally like topeak pumps and my roster ,apart from the track pump is...
Road morph , the bees knees and gets up to pressures needed but a bit bulky so it is in the panniers.

ini dual action on the road bike, nice pump but i do not like the fact that it connects to the valve without a hose and it has been known for road bike valves to snap when tyring to hold the pump on, MTB tyres have thicker vavles so less of a problem.

race rocket , great pump if you want to carry a small pump but no way would you get up to pressure needed for a road bike tyre, i managed 70 psi when i tested it .

Avoid the halfords combi mini pump/C02 they are crap!, all mine did was let the C02 out and none went into the tyre.
C02 also leaks out over time so you need to let it out and repump when you get home, like i siad its a quick way to get your tyres pumped up if your in the middle of nowhere.

Buying stuff really keeps my interest piqued. There is no better incentive to ride further/try harder than when testing new kit. ^_^.
