Didn't a guy get sent away for colliding with a group school kids who were intentionally blocking him.
Yes, and if I remember the incident, one of them died. As kids aren't all that good at making the best decisions, perhaps it would be better all round to avoid them if possible.

No, but if I could have got my hands on the passenger in a white van who leaned out of his window, smiled at me and then deliberately gobbed thick green phlegm into my face, I would have been sorely tempted to! :cursing:xx(
Two near-fights:
Cycling along, I stopped to let oncoming car through a gap. Passenger in rear leaned out of window and spat liquid into my face. Boy, if I'd caught up with them:cursing:. Got a helmet cam after that.

Going through green lights in centre lane for straight ahead (have posted about this months ago), undertaken at speed by moron on motorbike who used left turn lane to do so. I caught up with him at the lights, started getting verbal (adrenalin going) by saying he was dangerous and made an illegal move etc. He just sped off, so I gave him the finger. If he'd started anything, I wondered how much damage I could have done by just pushing the motorbike over:whistle:.

Wearing road shoes, with cleats sticking out, I wouldnt dare.

I'd fall over the second I made a move and get a kickin'. I have to concentrate to navigate stairs let alone a fight. If someone's being an arse, that's their life they're making worse, not yours. You're still you.

Being 60kg and 6'1 tall (i.e a tall skinny git) means i'll avoid a confrontation at all costs as i'd get murdered if it kicked off.

I've learned to not react anymore as there are way too many morons looking for a fight.

I almost had a few fights when I was younger. But I have learnt to control my temper. I still shout out at people, but only when they have pulled a really stupid manouvre. If someone passes me too closely, I wont say anything. If someone shouts something at me for no reason, I will just look at them. I have decided that there is no point at getting in a fight for nothing.

The only time I got very angry was on my motorbike last week. Not cycling but two wheels. A motorist used a break in a bus lane to undertake the slow moving line of traffic I was in to try and gain a few places. He decided to force his was back into the line of traffic where the bus lane started again by moving into the bit of road I was in. Obviously a vulnerable road user had better get out of his way. If I hadn't moved I'd have been knocked off the bike and potentially under a car. handily the car behind me preempted and braked hard to give me space. I'm not bothered about confrontation for the point of it but he could have done real damage to me and my bike. He had young children in the car so I didn't fancy getting him at the next lights to give a piece of my mind or kicking off. He actually turned in at the nursery at my work further up the road. The temptation to act all macho in my protective clothes and helmet when he came out of the nursery and was vulnerable on foot and not in his car was almost too much. Glad I decided against it and may have got me in trouble at work.

Almost, car got a bit too close so I flipped the finger. The driver stopped and got out, expecting my to carry on riding.. I didn't, dropped my bike, took my helmet off and faced him down. He got back in his car pretty sharpish. Probably helped that I'm just shy of 6 foot and weigh 17 stone.

Only once. A rager got out of his car and tried to punch me. Luckily he missed as I dismounted. he then tried to grab me, where upon I remembered a self defense lesson from when I was about 13 and I shoved my fingers under his adams apple and shoved in and up, causing him to almost throw up and release me. He then thought better of it and walked away without saying a word. Whole thing took about 15secs from start to finish, we didn't even have time to exchange insults. To this day I'm not sure why he decided to target me, I can't remember even having an altercation in any way.

Anyway I got the better of the exchange and no-one was seriously hurt (apart from his pride I'd imagine)
