Well, we had a Thunder Storm earlier, but now, it's dry, so there!
Yeah, us too: I was visualizing getting struck by lightening on my way home, but it stopped shortly before I finished my shift. Are alu bikes less conductive to electricity than steel bikes I wonder?

Got home yesterday after cycling in the fog and the heating was on!

Ah, 'Flaming June' ... blue skies, balmy summer evenings, sitting in the shade of the old oak tree, children playing in the evening sunshine ... all is well in the world!

Or ...

'Ferkin June'! Grim grey skies, barmy summer evenings being battered by relentless torrential rain, sirens alerting townsfolk to the imminent danger of floods, old trees washed away, children huddling indoors with the central heating turned back on ... stop the world, I want to get off!

What part of Hebden Bridge is that?
Also do you know if they managed to get the barge of the towpath & back into/onto the canal proper?

Yourself,MDB,yourself.......................we're the good souls on the bikes you see:laugh:

On your carbon bikes which have produced 10000000000000000000000000000 tonnes of Co2 just to make the bottle cage

I was standing on the new bridge over Hebden Water with the Shoulder of Mutton on my front left and the Town Hall front right and facing south towards the A646. The bridge in the distance is the old cobbled packhorse bridge on the site of the original ancient bridge over Hebden Water.

I didn't know about the barge!

I was told that the flood water was so deep on the Brearley playing fields on the way to Halifax that it covered the cross bars of the posts on the rugby pitches!

It's that time of year already, summer solstice has gone and the days are getting shorter:sad: .

Not that you will notice much difference for a couple of months.

We've still got at least a month to go before we reach the warmest time of the year (climatologically speaking).

The barge would have been on the towpath on the far side, Heptonstall turning circle side, of Heden Bridge past the nursing home that was flooded.

Also mention made of a dam burst in the area which resulted in the amount of muck deposited on the road down that neck o' woods.

On the bright side, there can't have been many hanging around in the park that night.
