I am not sure that 8 minutes is a guarantee that the winner will come from the breakaway.
If they race the Lys hard and drive between the climbs, it’s quite possible to take back 5 or 6 minutes on the Finnestre.

Mind you, I am not sure that Carapaz et al have the necessary gas left in the tank.

I think They are not going to launch carapaz now . The objective is to reduce UAE effectiveness later and put the time bonus in range
