Not sure what else they can do other than pull all riders involved in a crash which seems sub-optimal.

Yeah, I didn't follow the thing closely enough to have any opinion. Agree you can't just pull people from races willy-nilly and if they assessed him, what more can you do?

In general I don't think the "he rode a zillion miles with one leg hanging off, what a warrior" kind of headlines do cycling any favours. But that's another story really.

I saw a discussion on Instagram about whether Yates should have been allowed to continue, esp as he continued with a damaged helmet and it turned out he was concussed after all.

TBH I didn't watch all that closely as I was busy at the time, so I don't really have much opinion.

Did he want to.carry on the next day?

Well there are 34 riders within 10" of wearing the pink jersey tomorrow, so if this goes to a breakaway it's going to be an immense fight to get in it and get it away and keep it away
