If UAE don't either get their man away or let a break go out they're surely at risk of letting Magnier grab some points in the intermediates?

Well what do I know - Christopher Juul Jensen - the world's favourite Irish-Viking - thinks UAE control all day to unleash Narvaez on the final climb, which he says is "intense" (it's just over 1km at 11% so yeah, quite spicy)

It seems a few teams are thinking this is a muur sprint plus 12km finish stage, rather than a breakaway stage, a classic erop en erover

Blythe made the point that it's a short, 3 minute effort and that if it was a 1 day race people wouldn't be surprised for sprinters to get over it but that it's a bit different after 18 days racing

Route seems unreasonably flat when you see them riding between all these mountains

1896m climbing, so not quite as flat s you might think!
Given there's around 8.5 km of ascent over the next two days it's probably not a bad thing that it isn't too vicious

I’m not happy with the race situation.
Ciccone & Milan don’t look to be getting a win. The nodding dog will get pipped by a shrewd Maggy on stage 21.
Jonas will chill now & save himself for the TDF. The best stages were early on.

Time for your siesta BS

I have just completed my mid stage snooze and very nice it was too.
Back on my advert soapbox: anyone else getting fed up of Rob Hatch trying to sell TNT’s other content instead of just commentating on the Giro?
First he’s hyping the split screen nonsense that Cosmo ripped apart, then he’s telling us to watch anything from tennis to tiddlywinks.
Just not cycling.
