Something funny and inappropriate. Our secret santa got boring when it turned into thirty bottles of wine and nice smellies. This year we've sacked it off and are doing shoeboxes for the homeless instead which I personally think is nicer and much more in the spirit of Xmas.

Poundland do a string of battery-powered lights with the word Happy Christmas (no shoot!) in coloured gel letters - each letter illuminated with one l.e.d. light. Now, if you know her name, and the letters occur in 'happy christmas' buy as many sets as you need and swap the letters - they slip on and off easily. Make her name, or another message and present a unique 'objet d'Noel'. Obviously, the strings can be 'daisy-chained' to give more writing space, the letters can be cut etc, or others formed.
Buy a bon-bon with the change.

Nothing.
Secret Santa at workplaces is a stupid idea.

We don't do Christmas presents where I work either. Used to but it was dropped after some people asked for it to stop.

Where I work isn't at all Christmassy. Quite a contrast with home where we have two Christmas trees, lots of lights and decorations. I pass other organisations' offices where their doors are already festooned with tinsel and snowflakes and then enter our office where the only decoration is the occasional Christmas stamp on incoming mail.

Still, at breaktimes, I get to walk around the building and bathe in the light of the seasonal festivities happening elsewhere.

Thanks for posting that, I tracked down my local rucksack project and am putting a rucksack together as we speak.

We don't even bother with cards at our place never mind buying presents.

They did come round last year with a collection for one of the women in the office who was not well, (flu) and was going to miss the Christmas party, so they wanted to get her something to make her feel better, so I put a Lemsip sachet in the collection and was accused of being a misery.
Seriously??? A whip round because she had flu!

We have drawn names for secret santa at work.

I have drawn a student psychologist, a young woman in her early twenties who has only just started working in our department. I've only met her a couple of times (we work on different days) and have no idea what her interests are.

Spending limit is £5. Ideas please

:whistle: look at my signature
