I quite like Mono cafe (vegan), dunno if it's still on the go though? And Lebowski's for their white Russian menu...

Beat me to it! Mono is excellent, and still going. Be prepared to have your wallet lightened as their wee record shop is an absolute belter.

For gastronomic delights, check out The Ubiquitous Chip on Ashton Lane, have the haggis. The Grosvenor Cinema just next to it is also good for a beverage and a film. Actually, just go to Ashton Lane!

Avoid Sauchiehall Street.

Stop by the Hunterian Art Gallery on the University campus if you find yourself in the west end. There's a small Mackintosh exhibit as well.

If you like indian food, Balbir's is very much recommended. Best curry I've ever had.

Visit Billy Bilsland's cycle shop and see Robert Millar's polka dot jersey, as well as the bike he rode to win it.
There are some model shops close buy, then take a quick tour of the Barras.

I've never been to House for an Art Lover in Bellahouston, anyone know if that is any good?
And are they still doing the river bus down to Braehead? It was worth it to get the commentary and see the shipyards from the water.

There's a Nardini's on the Byres Road. If the original in Largs is anything to go by, the ice-cream sundaes are top notch...

I'm going to the Ubiqitious Chip next wednesday - Haggis is what I intend to have.

I'd not bother with the Glasgow version to be honest. I lived just off Byers Road for a while and got very excited when I discovered it. You're better off heading to Largs, unless it's changed.

I suggest you order two portions. One for your meal and one to be taken away, which they'll happily do. If you're that way inclined, the vegetarian haggis is an absolute triumph as well. My (now vegan) wife said it's the best faux-meat thing she's ever had, which is high praise considering she hates that sort of thing.

Correction- People's Palace is open again- but the Necropolis is better if it's a nice day. +1 for Billy Bilsland's, check the Polka Dot and the Peugeot.
