Are there any good model railway shops or model aircraft shops?

Model Railways:

I am not sure about good but there is Waddell's Models on Bell Street in the Merchant City, where D&F Models used to be. It is also just along the road from The Blackfriar's pub which is usually good for food and beer (usually the best bit these days).

D&F Models used to be great, but it is under new ownership and it just isn't as good, but, it is, nontheless still worth a look.

The other shop which is a bit better is a nice big shop called Pastimes. It is out at St George's Cross and the best way to get there is to take the Underground from the centre of Glasgow to.... Well, St George's Cross station and then you walk along Maryhill Road I think it is.

Pastimes is the sort of place that has been there for years under the same ownership, and as well as new models, is full of second hand locos and has drawers full of second hand coaches and wagons. They also have things like Hornby Dublo models, as well as diecast cars, planes... Even Doll's House items (Just in case that interestes you Vern!!).
In other words, you never quite know what you are going to find in there and is well worth a visit.

Aircraft:

The only place I know of is a shop that sells kits on High Street just down The Trongate on the same bit of road as Billy Bisland's. It is just off the junction with Argyle Street and is almost unerneath the railway bridge opposite a pub I've never been in.

There is also Merchant City Cameras (formally 'Quiggs') just round the corner on Parnie Street if that interests you too.
