Hi folks

A friend and myself are going to cycle to Whitby from Glasgow for charity. It was going to be all on the road, but I have to admit I am nervous of being on the road after my recent rear end smack down! I am hoping I can man up and get over this by then, but if not is it doable on cycle route only?

If you mean completely off road then I would think that you would be very unlikely to manage that.

Once out of urban areas though, you could prossibly make a route with just about nothing other than single lane roads though.

The coast roads are fine and very rarely used on Tyneside/Teeside, just whatever you do keep off the A19, it's horrendous (for potholes etc) around there.

Was going to do part on the A19, know how bad that road is driving down there. I think we are going to call it off as it's only 6 weeks away and I still can't fully turn my head after the whiplash! le sigh
