While the Odd Down closed road cycle circuit in Bath remains open for coaching and recreational use, racing is currently suspended. There have been reports of riders sustaining punctures due to glass in the asphalt and it is not yet known when the facility will reopen.

The Sustrans route here was covered in road chipping mixed with glass, which explains why I so frequently give out inner tubes to people who cycle along it. Sustrans do know but have decided it is nothing to do with them.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that road chippings mixed with glass is actually an officially provided surface, and endorsed by sustrans on some routes.

Yeah, let's recycle glass into an asphalt surface used by cyclists, can't see a problem there...
