Like the others, I prefer to have gloves (fingerless) on during the summer months.

I always wear gloves for the reasons given above about having an off, but also because the padding can prevent damage to the hands as well. A few years back I had some muscle damage between the thumb and forefinger of the left hand and was told by a doctor to stop cycling. That was impossible but well padded cycling gloves and a change of riding style to keep weight off the hands saw everything return to normal, but it took six months to achieve this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
