@HB2210 Like yourself, i've been seriously thinking about buying a
GoPro too. The prices have dropped because they're going to be releasing the 4th edition anytime really. They scheduled to release the new version between August and November.
Be warned about the SJ4000. Whilst they are good for the money, they are technically inferior to the GoPro 3's. Whether the advantages of the GoPro is worth the extra money is obviously the decision to be made by yourself. An example of the technical differences is that the manufactures claim that the GoPro's battery lasts for roughly twice as much as the SJ4000.

@Peteaud i have also wondered about whether i would play with it at first and then get bored/run out of excuses to record some footage.
One point to make is that if you'll be recording POV, the video naturally flattens out where ever your riding. So most things looks like you're just cruising flat roads/trails.
Another point to make is, who is going to watch the videos you produce? And/or how many times will it be watched? And is it worth the effort editing the videos?
