Had very little to eat since new year due to bowels problems and just started to eat again last night. Just now, I decided to go on the rollers as I haven't done any since before Christmas. After half an hour, I felt absolutely exhausted so had to stop. I guess I will have to gain more strength before riding again, such is life.

You will gain fitness back quick enough, don't get frustrated and over do it, from previous experience it tends to end badly.

To be fair, not many armies fight on bikes these days.

I've been laid up with an intense bout of man flu since new years day. I managed to cycle the 2 miles to the shop and back yesterday morning and managed to do 8.5 miles in total today. I really really struggled despite the fact I feel fine. I was considering doing my 40 mile trip round the coastal trails tomorrow but I'm probably going to take another day just to rest up and eat donuts.

I woke up with Bronchitis on Christmas day .... I've been taking it easy since.... I still have a snot nose, but am still cycling approx 30km per day commuting (self employed ... no work = no pay)

and to make matters worse, my winter bike (Surly LHT), has a puncture, and I have not had a chance to buy a new inner tube ... so, I've been using my daughters big heavy dutch bike with a massive basket on the front .... it has 3 gears, but is stuck in gear 2 .... 30km on this feels like 50km on my winter bike

I'm not worried about loosing some fitness .... 2 good fast long rides on a weekend, and it all comes back

so take it easy and don't push too hard until you fully recover
