The Questions: "Building on a strong foundation" is a great song!

Fay Hallam (or Fay Day - after marrying Graham Day of the Prisoners, and divorcing) has been in a few bands including the amazing "Prime Movers".
She's one of my favourite female vocalists.

I like a bit of Big Country... wasn't one of their aims to make the guitars sound like bagpipes?

Exactly - used an "e-bow"(electronic bow) for bagpipe effect, I think?

Their early gigs in Scotland(Barrowlands/Playhouse) were like football matches(atmosphere wise). With very few females attending.

I'm surprised no-one has given a shout out for the Bard of Barking. The '80s would not have been the same without a bit of Billy!

A New England (Live in HMV)

I mentioned the Redskins(Kick over the Statues) - who Billy Bragg used to support on tour(1983), think he played rhythm guitar with them as well. Saw Bragg a few times live - very under-rated guitarist(cause of his rough style), and amazing lyricist. Life's a Riot...his classic debut LP.

Good shout with "the Pixies" listened to Doolittle last week........didn't the Beat once become the Fine Young Cannibals(nobodys mentioned them yet)?
