I have just been talking to my brother in Orleans and he told me he is collecting two ebikes next week for him and his wife. The Town Hall offers ebikes to hire for 150 euros a year but subsidised by the Town hall by 70 euros so he is having two ebikes for 160 euros annual subscription. Very good deal I say.
Why don't they do something like this overhere to encourage people to take up cycling and get fitter ?

There have been schemes like that already. A few years ago people in Northumberland who couldn't get a job because of lack of transport were able to hire mopeds or e-bikes.

My local cycle hub (a non profit) gives free loans of ebikes and cargo bikes.
Our "Boris Bikes" for rent are both assisted or not, whatever you fancy.

How much does it cost to Oldham?

Cos we're pricks who don't deserve nice things.
