I commute across Cadishead / Risley Moss and family live in Astley so often ride across Irlam Moss too.

Yeah I can imagine.... I've been accross there countless times in a car and have often wondered if the car and I would come off in one piece, don't fancy it on a push-rod!

As for the War of the Roses thing - I reckon it is well beyond its sell-by-date! Yorkshire and Lancashire are both fine counties for cycling, and I love 'em both.
