It's a good price. Wiggle had for £270 a while back which evans would match so worth having a check around. I probably would have bought one if it hadn't been black and my pearson hadn't come up

Wiggle have the 2 for the same money if you prefer drops to bullhorns

You'd might get a much better SS bike if you converted one yourself. If you don't fancy that buy one that's already been done, here's one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221603540870 Lovely Carlton Corsair Reynolds 531 frame, something a bit different and rather unique too! There's lots more out there if you don't want to be one of the crowd.

Must admit @vickster i do like the look of the bullhorns. @Cycleops I'm not very good with a spanner to build my own but must say buying a vintage one that has already been done hadn't crossed my mind and the one in the link looks very nice.
I'm taking the current Mrs Paul139 out to look at a bike tomorrow at a different shop but might try and take another look at the one in Evans while we're out and maybe give it a test ride.

I liked the bullhorns too, it just wasn't the right bike for me, a touch heavy and the black was a no-no. Happy with the Pearson, although it ended up costing £400 odd as I needed some new forks to get the handlebars high enough for my crocked body and cross levers for confidence braking in traffic!

I have a home build fixed (drops) and a Cooper Seebring (bought 2nd hand from CrockofGold) with bullhorns and it is the Cooper that normally wins in the morning when I decide which one to take out for the day
