For me, the ultimate WTF? 'actor' of the current generation has to be Nicholas Cage. Does he only appear in complete crap nowadays? If he is in it it almost guarantees the film is an awful one.

Apart from Kick-Ass. He was pretty good in that (because he wasn't in it too much.)

I can't think of one Tom Cruise film I've not enjoyed watching. Sure, few of them are great art but I don't think that is what is intended. Splendid escapist entertainment which, for the most part, Hollywood does so well when A list 'actors' are involved.

Con Air?
The Rock?

Or, if you fancy something a bit more cerebral, Leaving Las Vegas.

oh, come on! That's not fair. To compare anybody with Nicholas Cage is to flatter them immensely. Although, if I may....Cruise has kept himself in splendid shape. Quite how Nicholas Cage came to be in the shape his is now is quite beyond me..........

Tropic Thunder: He was brilliant, you cant credit the script for that dance at the end.
War of the World: It may not be as good as the book but it is a good film, Cruise was good, but the guy who played his son was a bit weak.
Collateral: A great film with one of my favorite opening acts/scenes.
The Last Samurai: But then I do like most things eastern. As a note Billy Connolly was awful.
Minority Report: A good all round movie.
The Firm: Not scene it in years but liked it.
A Few Good Men: He is good in it but Jack is brilliant as usual.
Rain Man: Hoffman got all the credit for this film which is fair enough, but I think its Cruises' best performance.

Born on The Fourth of July: The most over acted piece of dribble I have ever scene.

One thing to remember is that he IS the most powerful actor in Hollywood with his films profit to cost ratio being higher than anyone's.
