Goodbye Duranos, you've served me well

My Durano+'s have suffered their second Rapid Unplanned Deflation, after nearly a year and a half of service doing 16 miles per week day--about 6200 miles.

The rear tyre is badly cut up and worn nearly flat, so I think it's time they were replaced.

They've been feeling a bit sluggish lately, so I've decided to go with Schwalbe One clinchers. I couldn't believe the pressure they take! 10 bar (145psi)!

I doubt they'll do quite as well as the Durano+'s, but I'll report back in the first time they puncture.

Just fitted Durano DDs to my Ribble, Replaced the Gatorskins. Hopefully more protection.

I love the D+ a lot. I've found my new Tannus tyres to be even more p*nct*re proof ( on account of them being solid). The Schwalbe one is a very nice tyre, I've found them to be more p*nct*re resistant than anything I've used by Continental, but less resistant than the D+, but they roll and grip better than the D+. Let us know how you find them.

I've been seeing a lot about tanus lately. I think they might be just the ticket for commuting, but the D+'s lasted nearly as long with nearly as much RUD protection (2 RUDs over 6000 miles of all weather commuting), so I'm not quite sold on the idea yet.

I think that your Ones will be quite a rough ride at 10 BAR. Unless you are very heavy? Mrs A uses blue Ones on one of her bikes and as she only weighs 60kg uses about 7BAR.

I've only put 9 bar in them so far. I ran my D+'s at 8 bar, so we shall see.

No way you need them at 145psi,that's a max pressure I would think.

Ran mine at 80-85psi but they were the tubeless version; probably 90 ish with tubes.

Also what size 23's or 25's.

Oh and they won't last anywhere near as long as Duranos.

I ran them at 145 this morning. It was so fun! They definitely roll faster than the D+'s. They seemed almost smoother than the D+s; a bit like I was skating. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I can't think how else to describe it.

They're 25mm, and I really don't expect to get another 6000 miles out of them, but we'll see!

What pump do you use to get to 145?

I've got a mini-track pump and even then I struggle to get to 100+

I'm not surprised they feel like skating though, at that pressure there'll be a tiny contact patch, but equally low resistance so fast. How's the cornering?

I use a joe blow max hp, and I have no trouble with the pressure. I do worry about what reinflation will be like following a RUD, but that's what CO2 is for, I suppose.

The cornering has been great so far. I wouldn't say I'm pushing it too hard, maybe slightly harder than I did on the D+'s due to the higher speed.

If they're 700c 25mm there isn't enough CO2 in a 16g cartridge to get to 145psi.

I'd still lower the pressure a bit.
