There's a "facebook for business" called LinkedIn, I'm sure some CCers have it.

I looked at it as business contacts were sending me requests to join. Basically you put your employment history on there, skills etc and, in theory, you use this to build a network that you can then leverage to help your employment prospects, business etc etc

The reality is it's useless and actually is really dangerous. For example, I can look at the employee of a competitor. Take a quick look at his contacts and, surprise, surprise, there are contacts from employees of his customers and suppliers. So I can immediately start to access these. Idiots

It is more than a little ironic, that you choose to inform a social media group that you are leaving a social media group.
That`s about the 3rd time this has been said

I wish I had never bothered now, I`ll just go back to lurking rather than posting, everything I say or do lately ends up being wrong

I`m off.....................

Just think of it as another example of what's wrong with social media...muppets that can't/won't read what's gone before, some of them even like to declare their ignorance with 'I haven't read the thread but..........'

I fully understand your OP and, despite the irony, really don't see anything wrong with using one form of social media to have a whinge about another.

It's about as ironic as using an Android phone to complain about iphones

Don't worry about it @speccy1 it's just the internet, folks just making noise without "listening" to what folk have said, just like on the YOUTWITFACE sites.

 I may be a social media numpty but I do understand the pleasure of having a whinge and that needs a platform......saying that.........

what about going for a beer, perhaps getting a little shitfaced, only to wake up and find pictures of your sorry state on the internet...some bloody friends they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have less than 50 friends? Bugger I feel like billy no mates now. Think I'll have to find some new friends/ suckers to harrass. Anyone want a friend?
What an offer, you make it sound so appealing.

I've got around thirty friends on there, only a few from work, but they're all people who if I walked into a pub and saw them I'd sit down and have a drink with them.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

it's great! I've got a close family member sharing xenophobic tripe from Britain First, a cousin reporting that she'd farted and followed through, another posting pictures of his new baby every five minutes, another posting pictures of their dog sitting, standing, barking and sleeping, then far far far too many "share this if you believe in angels" posts, as well as all the "if y0u c@n r3ad th1s, you're really special... like and share!" ... oh and the odd "We've been facebook friends for one year today!" posts :banghead:

I've had a few requests on there, we've been told to just ignore it.

I have a linked in account, it does seem to be a complete waste of ones and zeros. I might delete that later. I bet no one will notice.
