And if they are “gone” (past tense) how do they have the ability to tell us they are gone?

I presume this is because of the tricycle thread, which was a poor joke and rightly called out as such.
If it was trying to make a bigger point then it failed. Not worthy of a flounce but it wasn’t well thought out.
Shame to go after 14 years just because of that.

Exactly the point. Some found it funny others didn’t. So why flounce over such a small mis-step?

It was a pretty feeble attempt on the part of the OP to belittle his own partner

And then someone else jumps in to try to warn him about about how some 'oh so terrifying' big bad feminazis who-must-not-be-named might join in.

Followed by Jim bothering to point out that it's the whole shebang, is the same ol , same ol everyday sexism, routine stuff, right enough....

Both the belittling, and the invoking of the 'dreaded feminists' that is..

I assumed it was all some kind of bank holiday sit com, holiday special ..

The 'specials' are always rather dire aren't they..??

I've got a pic of me aged about two on a tricycle just like the one above..

Upgraded a tad since then .

But never stopped pedalling..

Great way of getting away from very dull people super quick..

Couldn’t he just have been attempting some humour? Everything doesn’t have to have an agenda in here. There’s often posts in here I don’t agree with but it’s only a bleeding light hearted cycling forum and not worth getting all hot and bothered.

I suspect that's what he was 'attempting'..
Sure his partner would have found it hilarious too

Why anyone else had to escalate it, by invoking the dreaded 'wimmin' .

Or why the OP had to get hot and bothered by their humour not landing..

To the point they feel they have to leave is anyone's guess..
Anyhow him gone now, maybe there were other circumstances that lead to it..
well probs never know.

Agree re lots of posts I don't agree with also.
