Next step is getting a proper workshop to base myself from.
nah thats just something that ive always wanted to atleast try to do, drive a truck. i can fit almost all of my tools in my little citroen dispatch. HGV licence would be good for if SHTF and handy for the odd occasion i do a bit of labouring work for GFs dad.I thought that was what the HGV licence was going to be for - the ultimate workshop on wheels.
Pretty much that. The training school could be a good contact as kids with scooters need stuff..be careful with partnerships and self employed. Hopefully you mean 2 seperate businesses under one roof..
It's quite terrific to note how positive you're being and the difference between how fed up you were in November and how optimistic you are now! I'm glad it's turned out well for you and as people were pointing out, there's lots of life-changing things that happen along the way that turn out to be for the best.Pretty much that.
Its all up in the air at the moment but the basics of it are, Ill be working from the workshop behind their school, Ill be servicing and repairing their fleet. Theyll be sending business my way and ill be doing the same. Ill get help from one of their staff when I need it and Ill help out on their side as/when needed. Ill also have my own section in their main area of the premises to sell parts, accesories and riding gear.
Two seperate businesses just working together shooting business both ways, its win win for both of us really. I did my A2 through them and will be doing my A licence with them soon.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to wash my car for £5 I would tell them to get on with it. There is my first business idea, hand car washes are all the thing, a hand car wash that comes to you is even better.
I say a £5 but I would have thought a £10 would be more like it, be regular turn up every week and build a customer base, not just retail but look at how many cars parked in your local light industrial estate. Being self employed means you are in control to a degree of your career, unlike working for somebody who could and has laid you off.
I hope you find something quickly.
Haven't been on here for a little while because of business and the fact I haven't been cycling much
Things have been EXTREMELY busy to the point where my GF has quit her job to pretty much run the business on the computer/phone side of things and i now work in the workshop non stop with another full time technician + a apprentice. We moved into a unit on a small industrial estate last week (temporary) and now have two vans to cope with picking up/dropping off bikes.
Currently working on a 2nd business which hopefully will grow as quick as this one did
Now time to go for a ride![]()
