GPS tracker?

Does anyone know of an easy to use, bomb proof GPS tracking device?

The OH bought something from china but it was so complicated we just gave up in the end. He's wanting something that he can put in bike frames and forget about. As an aside, I was thinking of putting one on the dogs collar in case he gets lost. I suspect the OH would like to put one on me too, he gets a bit panicky if he doesn't know where I am since I got run over!

Any idea's?
