Yea, yea - I realise these serve the same purpose as any others.

But of course are fitting onto frames / forks built to take wider rubber, are likely by definition of use - to get more abuse, might want to be “Quick release” to make cleaning or removal easier for dry road rides etc etc. So may have some slightly different requirements hence…….

Some Googling / review-reading keeps bringing this one up for the rear again and again:

And this looks like it could provide good protection, decent fit on ‘ovalised’ shape Carbon forks; and be quickly removable on the front:

Thoughts, experiences or other input welcomed 😁

The Ass savers Win Wing that you linked to in your first post is certainly an interesting looking guard. I do really like the attachment method and according to reviews it seems to work well at keeping the slop off of you. When I was looking for a rear guard this one wasn't on the market, but I expect I would have been very interested in it.

I actually run a Mudhugger Gravehugger rear guard on my bike. I find this a very effective and simple guard that keeps me really clean. You can see on this photo below how clean the saddle area is. Attachment though is with zip ties, so whilst it's fairly straightforward to remove it in Spring, the Asssavers one is much better.

Another possible plus in the Win wings favour, is that it has three angle settings which may well suit the more steeper angled drop seat stays of your new Bergamont.

I don't actually run a proper front guard, just a splash guard on the down tube. The only reason why, is because I've yet to find one that will not only fit my bike, but clear the 44mm tires that I run. The SKS one that you've linked to looks OK, but will only clear up to 38mm tires. So if it fits your forks and your running narrow tires it should probably be fine.

Truly: really helpful feedback. I’m pretty sure - and already was tbf - I’m going to go with those linked to…

Thankyou 🙏

I tried arse savers and few other quick release ones, although removing part is easy but found them very fiddly with minimal protection! Therefore finally settled for SKS and never looked back 😊

Thanks for all the replies gents. Minefield is all I can say from those replies 🤣

After looking at the suggestions; and working out which might work / look best with my (Incoming tomorrow 🤷‍♂️) bike:

I have stuck with my original Win Wing rear:

IMG_7939.jpeg

And SKS-S Blade front.

When I purchased the bike - I then learnt after; that i got 1% in “Points” from that store = £12.31. So offset against these mudguards - I’ve paid less than £20 delivered for the pair 😁

Looks like other supposedly better / Premium full sets are only £50 odd. So not the end of the World if the exercise takes a couple of goes…..although fingers crossed !
