Heskin Hall in Lancashire

Has 3 cafes, the one I like is in the main shopping building with the outdoor area, great food and a welcome surprise it's not overpriced like so many cafes at these country shopping places.

On the outskirts of Kendal there is a poncy farm shop & cafe. £4.50 for a medium sized sausage roll! No thanks.

Quite dreadful
Location
lost somewhere
And handy for a line of coke on the way out. Real olde world charm!

The one in Far Cotton was the best but I think that's gone now for the land to be redeveloped.

The Super Sausage Cafe on the corner of St Andrews Street in Northampton is great for truck stop fare. I don't know if it serves more than one type of coke though.

being middle aged / almost over the hill, i find the most expensive cafes are in garden centres always given poncy names to make it sound like a expensive restruarnt allows them to inflate the prices, when really the food they serve is no better than your local burger va.

The cafe in our local garden centre is quite nice. Not at all poncey, reasonably priced, dog friendly, and they even sell gourmet dog meals.

And it's a nice short walk up the road. We've gone there for Sunday dinner when Mrs D didnt feel like cooking. I've even met @TheDoctor there for a coffee and a slice of cake while he served me a writ.
