Great places to park a car

All cycle lanes should be removed anyway.
Would rather be part of the normal traffic flow not shoved to the side on a silly bit of coloured tarmac with crappy drains and rubbish.

+1 also I would do away with the ASL too. Most drivers block them anyway and as said I also prefer just to be part of the traffic. I don't mind being stopped a few car lengths back from traffic lights.

Did he tell you this because he got it through his firm's "Tanking it to work scheme", whereby he get's a brand new tank to drive to work at a reduced cost as he makes a salary sacrifice before tax? I believe you can also get the appropriate safety gear and clothing, but you must use it mainly for commuting to work. At the end of the year, you have the opportunity to purchase the tank outright by way of a one off payment, typically around 5% of the price.

You know the way drivers will park in really bad places so they have a shorter walk to shops/cash machine/etc? Well drivers near me stop on a blind bend so they have a shorter walk to ... a park. So they save themselves a walk of 100 yards from a safer parking place, then head into the park to walk for a couple of miles

Here you go - and this is usually taken at 25-30 mph having come down the 1 mile hill from Hooley. Not enjoyable - certainly when you have to avoid being doored on the way through...

Oh my. I've never seen it that bad. I've also never done it in heavy traffic so not experienced avoiding such a long doorzone area. Not too bad going down as you can pick up a bit of speed, but going up that cant be fun!

I do think they must have sent the google camera down there on a particularly bad day!
I come up at 6.30am ish, so it's relatively quiet - but more of a danger as there's more chance of someone having just parked & get out of their car to go to the station. Going down is not so bad - sit in the middle of the road & generally keep up with traffic anyway. But why put a cycle lane in on that road & allow parking - seems crazy to me - one or the other..

Waterloo Bridge on a Sunday is pretty epic. The cycle lane becomes invisible.

Every bridge has a flaw or two but this is a major one.

A doorers heaven shared with speeding close passing buses and cabs.

He owns the company. I believe his car got damaged by another, so he took that in at 6 in the morning. Before the rush began!

That's something that really annoys me. My wife's disabled and uses a mobility scooter to get around, particularly when I'm away with work. It's quite a struggle for her to get the scooter out, prepare all her gubbins and set off but all it takes is one inconsiderate vehicle parked at a dropped kerb on her route and she's snookered and has to turn round & come home. Sometimes it reduces her to floods of tears and it puts her off making the effort again, leaving her almost housebound.

I'm sure most people are just unaware of the importance of dropped kerbs (I certainly used to be), but there are some drivers who don't give a hoot.

Contact your local authority and ask for their Parking enforcement dept. Explain to them what is happening & they should ticket the offending vehicle! ( and mention the Disability Act it normally gee's them up!!!!) Its the same principle of someone blocking your 'Offical' vehicle access at home, if they are stopping you leaving then it becomes an offence (so I believe anyway).

Yups. If you are blocking vehicle access to land, your car can be towed. It's frustrating that people think they have any kind of 'right' to park on the road. They really, really don't. Even if there isn't any markings or signage restricting parking, there still is no 'right' to park there.

It's not a single regular offender though. It's something that I feel a public awareness campaign might help with because I'm sure most folk are blissfully unaware the effect their careless parking can have.
