A day off work today. With the other half off work as well a spin on the bike wasn't on the cards.
Instead, had a run out to York for a bit of fresh air and walkabout.
Nice light lunch and latte and more meandering. Good to spend a bit of time with the missus to be honest.

What has this gotta do with cycling?:tired:

As a newbie cyclist I've never noticed before but wow!!! There's a heck of a lot of cyclists and bikes in York! Only saw one roadie however. The vast majority were hybrids, town bikes and a fair smattering of MTB's. Quite understandable really as York is a fairly flat part of Yorkshire. Everyone cycles!!! Spoilt for choice for hills and climbs round my neck of the woods. Wouldn't mind a bit of sedate and steady flat cycling now and again though.

Most summers we spend a lot of time at Neburn Lock which is just outside York , love riding through the lanes out into the sticks towards Selby , flat as a pan.

I love looking at the bikes others are riding. There's an enormous variety isn't there?
Glad you had a nice day. Your missus probably appreciated it too.
Take care.

Jealous! I love a day out in York, haven't been for ages.
We used to live outside of Tadcaster but cycling never occurred to me in those days. What a waste.
