When were gussets invented?
https://www.townsends-lb.co.uk/gusset-components
Gusset was founded in the summer of 1995 by two riding friends Paul Sorrell and Jason Mills. It started as a little project printing t-shirts, hoodies and replacement springs for Pit Bull brakes.

Although the pair had great plans for the brand they found that at the time they didn't have the time or money to take the brand as far as it could go. The opportunity soon came along to pass the company over to Ison as both partners had known Lloyd and the team at Ison for some years and felt that with their contacts and distribution network that Gusset would be in good hands.

Since those early days, Gusset has developed into a component company with a wide range of products that appeal to many different types of riders. Gusset has gained a reputation for making quality, durable parts made with premium materials.
1995 is your answer.

The Internet connection to Belgium?
https://www.mircode.org/09-170613-o...-ancestor-of-the-internet-and-search-engines/
One hundred thirty years ago a nearby European country invented the ancestor of the Internet and search engines
...
In 1895, two Belgians set out to index the world. Their names were Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, and their lab wasn’t a garage but a Brussels office stacked with forms and dreams. They founded the International Institute of Bibliography and began to classify everything published, line by line.
At that time in the UK they were still burning witches. ;)

It's genuinely shocking what we did to "witches"; murdering thousands of women.

The Witchcraft Act 1563 resulted in approximately 4,000 innocent people being accused of witchcraft. Confessions were routinely obtained by torture and around 2,500 of those accused were convicted and executed, normally by way of strangulation and then burning at the stake. Scotland killed five times as many people as witches than elsewhere in Europe. 85% of those accused were women
