'I must admit Green Park wasn't one I'd heard of, unlike Regents Park or Hyde Park. I thought that might have been me being an ignoramus.'

Green Park? that's a cul-de-sac of about 2 dozen 'posh' houses half a mile from here... Used to deliver the local free sheet there and got moaned at for walking across the grass whilst their kids were playing on it!!!

I'm from Scotland, but I can see the Reading Green Park from my office window and assumed he was talking about London. Am I supposed to be angry or not? Maybe someone can draw a diagram for me?

Scotland compared to London sums it up rather well

15M in Greater London, never mind percentage of cyclists

I'm sorry to hear that. If it gets too much for you, remember the Samaritans' phone line.

I was the person who was knocked off on Thursday.

I was cycling down the cycleway in Green Park (I normally cycle down the road on Constitution Hill, but the lights were "in my favour" - famous last words - to cycle in the park on that day). I was overtaking another cyclist towards the end of the cycle lane opposite Buckingham Palace, and he abruptly - and without checking behind or indicating - turned right in front of me and knocked me off my bike.

I don't remember much, but I was knocked on the floor and sustained a nasty head injury that meant I lost a lot of blood. I've fractured my cheekbone in three places, and am left with a nicely blued right-side of my face and stitches.

Apparently the cyclist stopped briefly, and then cycled off - leaving me on the floor. I was very grateful to the pedestrians who stopped to help.

That's very nasty. Get well soon, Rach. Any CCTV footage around there I wonder to help catch the person that did it? He might use that path regularly.
