Do you need actually socks when your legs are that hairy  Most hairy animals don't bother

Cracking a solo.
If it's raining on my commute I'll wear white socks, grey by the time I get to work, if not it's my black work socks. I like to think my pairs with one of the seven dwarves on are particularly popular with my fellow road users.

I don't normally care what others are wearing if they are comfortable with it then fair play ....but...there's this one guy I've seen a couple of times on his way to or from work who has a drop bar bike and he wears a TT helmet you know the proper cone shaped at the back one with the visor ....nothing wrong in this you think...except he's wearing steel toe cap boots cargo trousers and a big high viz coat...now I'm pretty sure if you want to be streamlined to shave time off a ride you wouldn't be wearing so much weight lol

On the rare occasion that I commute to work I have thick socks and Lycra on. Work clothes are taken to work the day before so I don't have to carry loads of gear with me I find it more comfortable to ride in in cycling gear even if people I work with take the mick

They actually looked like grey school socks which is why I thought it was funny when everything thing else was lycra.
I agree that you should wear what you are comfortable with and what you can afford. He might have not liked my loose style shorts! I haven't found any tight fitting ones that I feel comfortable in!
