I'm a bit confused by the gripshift (front/left) I have fitted to my mountain bike (cheap Sunrace shifter), it seems to be a different ratio from the one I have replaced. It (the chain) goes onto the largest cog (triple obviously) even before it gets to "2" on the shifter. I thought all gear shifters for front derailleurs are 1:1 even SRAM as well as Shimano so how can this one be incompatible with a Shimano derailleur? I don't get it
