Morning Everyone
I am upgrading my existing Claris 8 speed gtoupset to 105 which is a hollowtech bb are there any adjustments needed to allow for the fact the pedals cranks are a bit further away from the frame as the bearings now sit outside of the bb shell

The other aspect to check is whether your wheels can take an 11 speed cassette as Claris-equipped ones often can't.

Morning! No. You'll be fine. The 105 chainset is designed to fit the H2 BB (obviously) and its chainline will be aligned with your new 11sp cassette. Worth, for interest only, measuring the Q factor of your current chainset, for subsequent comparison.
Slightly surprised that an 11sp cassette will fit on your freehub. If it was for 8sp, it will not accept an 11sp cassette. You can tell if it is an 11sp freehub because there'll be a spacer inside (spoke side) the 8sp cassette.
On a minor point of typos, please would you unshout the thread title.
Edit: David beat me to it, by seconds.

I'll be the first to question whether it's worth upgrading an apparently entry-level bike with a higher-end groupset, when a replacement, higher-spec bike might make more sense..

With carbon wheels , and decent groupsent , it's not an entry level bike any more is it ,

Anyway getting back to my earlier question does anyone have an option on that ?

Unless you're literally replacing the whole bike (sounds like you'll be halfway there by the end of it) it'll remain an entry level frame with higher-end bits bolted to it.

Again a questionable route to be taking, but it won't be my money you're p*ssing away so crack on 👍

Mate me question was back at the turn of the century is there any adjustment to be made with going from square taper to hollowtech and the fact the bearings sit outside the frame.....any chance of an opinion on that
