I have just bought a spare set of wheels to use on the road for my gravel bike. The bike has Shimano GRX brakes with 160 mm rotors , the new wheels have 140 mm rotors . What I am hoping to do is use the 160 rotors on the front and the 140 rotors on the rear. By doing this I only have to adapt the rear Caliper and both wheels will be a straight swap. See pic , do I just need to take out the adaptor plate and bolt Caliper to the frame - will the bolts be too long and need shorter ones or will the same bolts be ok. New to disc brakes so thanks for any help.

Can't you just fit 160mm rotors to the new wheels?

I think you should get away with the same bolts ,I would just go canny when tightening them up
it’s not carbon so you should feel them stop
