Guess the love affair with fixies is over now that...

Are we sure it's a fixed rather than a single speed?

Yeah, First photo pedals are one way, photo after the cranks are turned.

Can we all stop pointing out he's got flip flops on? I wear flip flops sometimes, doesn't mean I'm gonna ride a bike in them.

Besides, the power he'll have in his legs will be able to control the pootling speeds he'll probably be doing.

No, it's his missus that does that. Or is that freeloading?
No, it isn't. Victoria Beckham has got her considerable wealth by working very hard at it since her teens and for most of her career she has out-earned her husband. Her talents and media presence aren't aimed at my generation, but she is a much better role model than some upper class twunt who is financed by a stockbroker father.

Don't people realise that the Beckhams are constantly in the red tops because that is part of the job spec? When M & S had him modelling their clothes, sales rocketed and they got their money back a hundred times over. You don't do that by avoiding photographers.

- ok not a fixed bike... but I love wearing flip flops and cycling... gives a lovely laid back feeling and doesn't matter if your feet get wet.

I think that images of celeb's with bikes helps promote bikes to a subset of the population - I'm all for as many people as possible riding bikes so that it becomes the norm. (OK he isn't ever going to use the bike to commute to work on...).

Not like it purely based on principle? Not sure how you can never watch something and make a decision on it's merits? I'm no fan but find this a funny way to look at things.

It's an absolute disgrace! Not one of them is wearing a cycling helmet - think of the children!!

My bike does that and it's not a fixie.

I hate riding in flip flops. I had to do it once because my other shoes were drenched, but by the time I got home the bit inbetween my big toe and next toe was killing me.

You've got dirt in your hub then.

I haven't, it's been doing it since it was brand new. The shop faffed with it a bit, changed the freewheel and something or other else, then gave it back in exactly the same conditioin and said that it's a new bike thing, when the parts slacken off it'll stop.

Celeb culture, innit?

Other than that I am with fab foodie et al.

Spot on.
